Aaron Porterfield
Master's of Science Student
Aaron Porterfield is a graduate student at UAPB and is currently working on developing new protocols and methods for Digital Droplet PCR, which can be used to detect a wide variety of fish pathogens, which are major contributors of fish and economic losses in the aquaculture industry. He hopes to be employed at the USDA-APHIS approved fish health inspection laboratory at Lonoke, Arkansas.
Jacob Jones
Master's of Science Student
Jacob is an Arkansas native and a graduate of Mississippi State University in Wildlife, Fisheries and Aquaculture. Jacob's research is evaluating the production of hybrid crappie using xenogenic parents. He is also conducting a study to evaluate different feed formulations on relative fecundity in goldfish and the use of UAVs and aerial imagery in aquaculture.
Sujan Bhattarai
Doctor of Philosophy Student
Sujan is a Ph.D student at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and is originally from Nepal. Sujan is working on the culture, characterization, and tagging of primordial germ cells in Crappie (Pomoxis spp.)
