Dr. Dayan (Dave) Perera
I am currently an Assistant Professor and an extension specialist for bait and sport-fish production at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. My field of expertise is in the reproductive physiology of fishes, and aquaculture genetics. My work encompasses aquaculture production, hybridization, ploidy manipulation, hatchery management, and aquaponic engineering and innovation. My primary research interest is the use of stem cells for the production of xenogenic aquaculture species. I also work on the improvement of the bait, sport, and ornamental fish industry in Arkansas.
